Although I have lived in Georgia most of my life, I spent my early years growing up in Wisconsin, Florida, and South Carolina. Music has been a large part of my life as long as I can remember, and it seemed a natural progression to pursue that interest in college and beyond. I earned undergraduate music degrees from Anderson University and Berry College, and Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Southern Seminary. I have served several churches as Minister of Music, and prior to coming to Carrollton, I was Professor and Chair of the Division of Music at Brewton-Parker College.
For me, music is not only an area that is interesting and provides pleasure; it is also a vehicle through which people can offer praise to God, learn and express beliefs, and listen for God to speak in words of assurance, correction, and forgiveness. It is a powerful tool for worship, and I am grateful for the opportunity to provide leadership in this area.
In addition to working with music in ministry, I also enjoy writing, arranging, and performing music. Reading, traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with my wife are favored leisure activities.
